Pentagram System

What Is the Pentagram System?

The Pentagram System is a new combat system that adds natural elements to the game. By equipping a Pentagram Item, your character starts carrying one of five elements — Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, or Darkness — and all battles begin to take this elemental relationship into account.

In practice, the right element can allow a weaker player to overcome someone much more powerful. Characters without an equipped Pentagram are classified as No Element and take 120% damage from any opposing element — a direct disadvantage in any combat.

Elements and Elemental Relationships

The five elements interact with each other through advantage, neutrality, and disadvantage relationships. Knowing these relationships is essential when choosing the right Pentagram and making strategic decisions in PvP and hunting.

The table below shows what % of your damage is applied based on your element (row) against the enemy's element (column):

Your element ↓ \ Enemy →🔥 Fire💧 Water🌿 Earth🌀 Wind🌑 DarknessNo Element
🔥 Fire100%80%90%90%120%120%

🌀 Wind90%110%120%120%80%120%
🌑 Darkness80%90%110%110%100%120%
  • 120% — elemental advantage, you deal extra damage
  • 100% — neutral, no bonus or penalty
  • 80% — disadvantage, your damage is reduced

⚔️ In PvP, all elemental damage receives an additional +30% bonus.

❌ Characters equipped with no Pentagram receive 120% damage from any element.

Pentagram Item

The Pentagram is the central item of the elemental system. It defines your character's element and has internal slots for socketing Errtels, which add extra options to your equipment.

How to Obtain

Pentagrams are dropped by elemental monsters in Acheron and by boss monsters on the continent of MU. The Pentagram's element is determined randomly on drop.

Properties Window

Press ALT + Right Click on the Pentagram to open its properties window, where you manage socketed Errtels.

The Pentagram can have 1 to 4 Errtel slots, generated randomly on drop. Each slot only accepts Errtels whose element is identical to the Pentagram's element.

Blessing Slot (2)Errtel of Blessing
Purity Slot (3)Errtel of Purity
Holiness Slot (4)Errtel of Holiness

Pentagram Upgrade

The Pentagram can be upgraded normally from +1 to +9. To reach +10 to +15, use the NPC Chaos Machine.

Pentagrams you no longer need can be disintegrated to recover materials. Success rate: 50%. If it fails, the item is destroyed.

Errtel

Errtels are items socketed into Pentagram slots that grant the character additional elemental options. They do not drop ready to use — they must be created and evolved through NPC Adriel, in Acheron (36, 216).

Creating an Errtel

All materials used to create Errtels are obtained from elemental monsters in Acheron.

Creation Formula

5× Mithril Fragment (same element) → 1× Mithril
5× Elixir Fragment → 1× Elixir

5× Mithril + 1× Elixir + 1× Jewel of Bless → Errtel

⚠️ If the combination fails, all materials are destroyed.

Errtel Level Upgrade

The Errtel can be upgraded up to +10 through NPC Adriel.

Errtel Rank Up

Rank Up adds new options to the Errtel and is what determines its real elemental power. The Errtel can reach up to Rank 5, gaining new options at each rank.

⚠️ When ranking up, the Errtel level returns to +0 — you will need to upgrade it again.

⚠️ If it fails, all materials are destroyed.

When raising the rank, one option is added randomly to the Errtel. Values scale according to the upgrade level (+0 to +10). The four Errtels follow the same rank structure, differing only in the base Rank 1 option and the final Rank 5 options.

ℹ️ At Rank 2, one of the five opposite-element options is chosen randomly.
